Green Logistics

Against the backdrop of Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and growing environmental pressures on the logistics industry, Transport and Maritime Service Joint Stock Company (TRA-SAS) has officially partnered with FPT to deploy the VertZéro greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting software. This marks not only the beginning of TRA-SAS’s green transformation journey, but also demonstrates its pioneering role in logistics by proactively transparentizing emissions and building sustainable operations aligned with international standards.

Context & Industry Challenges

As Vietnam works toward Net Zero 2050 and global environmental compliance tightens, Vietnamese logistics providers face several key challenges:

Global Environmental Pressure

Global supply chains demand strict adherence to environmental criteria. International clients and partners require full transparency regarding GHG emissions across all logistics and transport activities.

Data Management Complexity

Collecting, standardizing, and managing seamless emissions data—across transport, warehousing, and auxiliary services—remains a complex hurdle for logistics enterprises.

Road Freight Emissions

Road freight accounts for over 95% of total freight emissions in Vietnam, yet digital GHG accounting across road fleets remains largely unstandardized.

International Compliance Standards

Enterprises must align with global benchmarks, such as ISO 14064-1:2018, to remain competitive and integrate deeper into global supply chains.

Recognizing these industry shifts, TRA-SAS proactively adopted an automated GHG accounting solution to deliver emission transparency and establish international-grade sustainable operational capabilities.
